Monster Blue Marlin Fishing from Calheta Marina - Madeira and trophy size tuna all year round with a choice from our charter boats `SAVAGE' and `RAZZIN HELL' with the option of very comfortable accommodation in your own private villa. We have regular catches of Atlantic Blue Marlin over 1000lbs with the average size fish being in the region of 750lbs. We practice 'CATCH & RELEASE' of all billfish.
We are also becoming known as a reliable crew for bringing in goliath size big eye tuna and even the occasional yellow fin tuna. As can be seen from the photographs on this website we have many satisfied tuna anglers!
'RAZZIN HELL'
A Hatteras 41ft sport fish big game boat, which is well known as one of the best designed boats ever made for sport fishing. She has twin fully reconditioned Cummins 450hp diesel engines capable of taking the boat to over 32knts with ease. She is fully equipped with brand new Shimano 130lbs reels fitted to new custom built rods. We have a huge selection of new lures and teasers to raise and catch that fish of a lifetime. Fitted with full air-conditioning with a very large comfortable lounge giving perfect views to the cockpit. There is also ample comfortable seating on the fly bridge giving fantastic views of all the action. The galley is fully equipped, including a microwave, cooker, freezer, ice maker, coffee machine and large fridge. The bathroom has a full size toilet and shower. She also has a top of the range sound system throughout playing cd´s, mp3 and memory cards.
This is a fully equipped 38ft big game fishing boat and was the first boat to operate out of Calheta's beautiful new marina and is licensed and insured for charter.She is equipped with 50/80/130 Shimano and Penn International rods and reels and full safety equipment and SSB. She has twin diesel engines and weather protection. The Savage has a long history of some of the largest catches of Madeira's famous Atlantic Blue Marlin (1000lb plus).
We specialize in big Blue Marlin although in the last few years we have become known as the boats that can deliver tuna and pretty big ones at that! Madeira has built the reputation for producing some of the biggest game fish around and therefore attracts private boats and the most famous captains and fishermen from all over the world. The marlin season in Madeira begins in late April and lasts until the end of September, and due to the deep water here, fishing begins directly outside the marina so there is no time wasted in catching that fish of a lifetime! ... Fenders in, lines out is how we play it here!
We also target white marlin, speafish, wahoo, barracuda and mahi mahi. We can also be found searching out the broad bills and sharks as well (hammerhead, mako and blue).
We operate a 'Catch & Release' policy for billfish and have a great respect for these beautiful creatures.
You will also see many species of dolphins, whales, sharks, turtles, sea birds and rugged breathtaking coastal scenery with deep ravines and amazing waterfalls, and of course the amazingly beautiful clear azure coloured water. This is an island you will never forget full of lush green vegetation and flowers and the most amazing walks and views you can imagine.
ACCOMMODATION
We also offer a very comfortable villa with swimming pool, set in beautiful gardens with huge palm trees and tropical plants.
Next to the pool is a really lovely club house, with a kitchen and very large inside barbecue.
There is a television, great stereo system and lots of comfy seating and dining area all in the fishy theme!
By the pool are are sun chairs and a large hammock, this is all only 5 minutes from the marina in Calheta and where the charter boats are berthed.
